Memories from the people
This is for any of you folk that go to "Little Brother's" or who used to go to "Stache and Little Brother’s" in the campus area before it moved to the Short North.
I went to "Stache and Little Brother’s" when it was in the campus area. I lived a couple of blocks away and would walk over there with family and friends or meet friends or just plain go by myself (the only damn bar I EVER felt comfortable going in alone as a single woman). It was a dive...the bathroom was a hoot...but there was the most fantastic atmosphere of funk and fun in that place. When they tore the building down I cried. I saw some GREAT music there and developed a life long addiction to live Celtic music. It's a place I associate with my youth and with love (insert ex-boyfriend story here) and with WOW...wasn't that interesting music?...god that was crap!...and I have to see them AGAIN.
I got older and life got busier. I and friends would visit "Little Brother's" in the Short North once in a great while. The staff there always seemed laid back and fun - I always felt that these folk worked where they did because they gave a rat's ass...no corporate toads there...just people who were passionate about music.
I will hope that "Little Brother's" can continue. There is a distinct need (and craving) for independent music to help round out our cultural community. Also I've always thought of "Little Brother's" as a major pulse point in Columbus, under the surface, pushing through new music and circulating it out into the community.
To Dan Dougan and to all of you that have worked there through the years.... a truly heart felt - Thank you. You've provided me and many others with some wonderful, wonderful memories.
And you know...when we all finally do go to "croak" - we really won't be counting our blasted money...but all our memories.
Sláinte!

I have to take the time to say "Thank You" for bringing in so many great women singers. I have greatly enjoyed performances by "Cheryl Wheeler", Catie Curtis, Donna Magavero, and the amazing Melissa Ferrick! Not to mention my favorite cowboy: Fred Eaglesmith! I will definitely miss opening my e-mail to see who you are surprising me with in the future. The smallness of your club offered such an amazing atmosphere to see up close and personal some of my favorite singers and enjoy their musical talents.
I do hope you find a way even if it means you have to have a partner to bring more great music to the area. Thanks so much again for all your hard work and effort in bringing great music at an awesome price to all our hearts and souls the world has been made a much better place for all your efforts.
Sincerely,
Jane V.

One of my favorite memories of Stache's (a little older than the Bros crowd) is of Albert Collins playing guitar, walking out the front door of Stache's and getting on a COTA bus. It was great. He used to do that all the time even at The Underground.
Thanks Stache's and Little Brothers for all the great music and fun .
